Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she published her first debut single Here. The song was an instant smash and garnered praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached number 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the song one of the Top Songs of the year. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top of the charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. In her Rap-Up Interview fans discussed Cara's struggle to find self-love as well as her fears. Cara is known for her messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. Her inspiration for her music comes from Cara's personal struggle to conquer mental health issues and insomnia. When she spoke to Reuters, she declared her album to be "half turbulent" as well as "half flawless". She found growth through therapy and she encourages others to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar that she was able to use to further develop her passion for the music. In 2013, she performed the songs she loved for YouTube the most popular platform for media. This was to demonstrate that she had both the talent and confidence to pursue a career as an artist.
